General Questions

All riders are welcome to race. There are 5 scheduled cross-country races during the season. Racers race against other riders from Northern Nevada and Northern California that are in their gender and age category. Races are 4-20 miles long depending on your age/gender category.

No. We have adventure groups that love to ride together and learn new skills. However, we also have race teams that will encourage and support you as you challenge yourself. No matter what group you ride with, anyone can choose to race or not.

No. The mountain bike team is a club organization. All riders are welcome! #morekidsonbikes

We have coaches for all levels and abilities. Riders will learn skills and set goals to get the most out of their experience on the team. You’ll ride with a group with similar riding abilities while you learn to conquer the trails.

Any working mountain bike will get you started, however, more advanced riders will likely need bikes with disc brakes and sufficient gearing. If you are unsure about your bike, please contact us. We don’t want any kids to miss out due to lack of a bike.

Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Sundays by invitation. The team practices at a variety of locations including Sierra Vista Bike Park, Hoge Road, Keystone Canyon, and Rancho San Rafael.
